being hardcore sure is hard when you have so many things to get done and oversee and such.
applying to the bc college of teachers? horrifying. they're not at all clear in what needs to be in by when. just a "get it in and we'll let you know. but these three things you have to get other people to send in for you. so there. neener neener neener" and along the same lines, why the hell does the government need to have 2 phone referees for a passport application? do they really take the time to call all of those people and ask "is this person really who she says she is? she looks hardcore in the regulation photos she sent in; she isn't smiling or anything. man, she really must be hardcore. can you confirm this? uh huh, and how long have you known said applicant?" i haven't even looked at visa (as in hi can i live in your country) applications yet because i feel the need to pace myself.
band trip to parksville/qualicum? pretty good. a lot of pretend angrily whispered "stop talking"s during a VERY boring 4 hours of watching performances then adjudications which the audience couldn't quite hear. i got to confiscate a cap gun after it had been very directly said that all cap guns and nose/mustache glasses were to be left on the bus (they had been purchased during the lunch break). i totally wanted to go home at the end of it, but had to wait around until cael came to get me.
i've been propositioned to chaperone a 30 hour famine. she didn't do a super good job selling the idea on me, but i may do it anyways. i told her to come back and ask me later in the week. the only times left are from midnight on. which could be fun. or it could be one room full of sleeping students and coffee drinking teachers, and another room full of grumpy teenagers watching bad teen movies, topped by a couple of coffee drking teachers barricaded into a corner. i'm hoping that it would be fun. i hear that some of them play bridge, and hope that they would be interested in playing boardgames and canasta as well. hint hint. oh and on the down side, the 30 hours starts on my last day of practicum and ends on a saturday afternoon. so if i do it, there's a limited chance of doing something fun to celebrate being done. not that i have plans, i just like to keep my options open.
first school soccer game tomorrow against one of the tougher teams. ouch. we don't even have enough team jerseys for everyone. i hope we don't get squashed. the time and place got changed though, so i probably won't even get there until it starts. boo. the game days are the only days that i have afternoon classes. why not just start at 4 like last year, which worked for everyone. why put it back to a time which everyone agreed was not good. i'm sure the class teachers don't like it either because the girls have to miss an hour of class just to get there on time. fortunately there are only 3 away games this year, so i'll be there at least on time for most of them
i'm sure there's more interesting news to be heard from me, but this is all you get. i have to ration you people because i know you can't take too much excitement at once.
