Tom Seaver

Seth:

It's the All-Star break, so I'd like to take advantage of this respite to call out Tom Seaver, Mets announcer. He was a great pitcher, is a complete moron. Also, a terrible announcer.

A few pieces of advice: Learn to pronounce Hispanic names. Stop saying every hitter's a fastball hitter. A fastball goes more or less fast and more or less straight. A player doesn't make it to the major leagues unless they can hit a fastball. Players whose skills are declining, like Mike Piazza, demonstrably can't hit a fastball like they used to. You're an announcer. You go to a lot of games. Look at Piazza's at-bats. He looks bad at the plate; he fouls off pitches he used to smash and swings at awful pitches. This anecdotal evidence is supported by his crappy stats. He's not a great fastball hitter anymore. So stop saying he is. Finally, stop being a pompous, self-righteous, babbling ass.
