"Anyway, that’s what I’m into. Telling a straight story in my comics is just kind of boring to me, so I get obsessed with the rhythm of the thing. The ‘action instructions ‘are essentially me trying to keep time. I don’t think anyone will ever notice but I try to have something like ‘eat eat eat’ followed by ‘walk walk walk’ so that it stays in beat. Also, I think it’s funny and my drawing skills only benefit from a text explanation of what’s going on. I write a lot of songs and I’m trying to get my comics to be as much like songs as possible."
