Coolin' on the corner on a hot summer's day, just me and my posse and MCA

Heeeeey..

I think I should start all of my journal entries with a rap lyric. I'll see what I can do about that. So I'm hanging out in HUB right now, killing time between classes. I have quite a few spares inbetween classes this semester, but it's allright.. gives me a lot of time to do homework and reading etc. In theory I might even start doing that one of these days, but in the meantime I'll go find some people to play cards with.

School's going pretty well, all in all. My classes are really interesting.. well, some of them are. I'm taking Accounting 311 (pretty good), Business 201 (easy but interesting), Business Law 301 (quite interesting, I'm usually half asleep for the class tho), Marketing 301 (alright, but it's a joke so far, all common sense), and Management Information Systems 311 (agonizing, as it's a 3 hour night class, but doesn't look too hard). The last time I took 5 clasess in one semester was in my first year, which is pretty terrifying. I'm also significantly older than most people in my classes (well, 2 years usually) which takes a bit of getting used to as well. These things aren't that big of a deal though, so it's all good.

Also I'm pretty much attached to my laptop now. I'm using it to take notes in all my classes, I have a couple group projects on the go where I'm writing emails a lot, and all my courses have a lot of online content as well. There are actually quite a few people in business with laptops now.. my guess would be somewhere in the 15-20% range. It sure makes things easier. It's crazy how much technology use on campus has increased even in the past 5 years.. when I first got here almost no one used a laptop, there was no such thing as wireless internet, not all that many people had cellphones, and all assignments had to be printed out before being handed in. I think it's fascinating to see how much that's changed, and it will be more interesting to see what kind of an effect new technologies have, such as the widespread use of wireless, gps locators in phones and other devices(article about that in the Journal this morning), and the communications industry as a whole.

Ok, time to go find some people to play cards with.
