..or at least since I started the new job. Which isn't so new now, because I've been there for 2 months. Oh well.
Basically it comes down to the fact that I spend a good portion of my day in front of a computer, doing research on the net and writing long papers. Don't get me wrong - it's really interesting, and I'm totally loving the job (at ATB Financial, if ya didn't know). However when I get home I typically don't feel like writing a word. Not that anything terribly exciting has happened my life anyway.. I work, go to the lake sometimes (still only been wakeboarding once, due to crappy weather.. bah), hang out with Colette a lot, play video games, and go on the occational bike ride.
It's hard to believe that summer's half over already.. I'm not really sure where it's gone. These weeks are just flying by. I wish I had something to look forward to, but nothing's really going on in the next little while. Well there are a couple things - going paintballing for Ryan's stag next saturday, for example. That's gonna be so much fun.. we went about a month ago and just had a blast, even though we were playing mainly with people we didn't know. So many people will be coming out next weekend though.. mmmk lemme think: Myself, Ryan, Shaun, Gabe, Paul, Scott, Mark, Big Mike (?), Pat (?), Colin, Travis, Raymond, my dad, ryan's dad, laura's dad, Ryan Fraser, Scott Haggar.. and lots of others. We'll easily have enough guys to have games all on our own, which will be nice (ie not having to play against incredibly hardcore guys with camo outfits and laser scopes on their guns). So yeah, that's something to look forward to.. as well as the wedding of course, that's on the 31st.. yikes. Hard to imagine that he's actually getting married. Only 22 and all.. it's cool though, they're really good together.
Oh, just thought of an amusing story. Last weekend I went out to the lake (it was beautiful, btw) and drove home with Colette on sunday. I dropped her off at her house, then turned around and started driving back to my place when I noticed a little boy, only 2 or 3 years old, running along the sidewalk wearing only a t-shirt, a diaper, and two very dirty socks. This old woman was driving a big mercedes along side of him, watching where he was going I guess. I passed by her then pulled over to the side of the road and got out to stop this kid. He tried to go past me but I stopped him, and asked his name and where he was going. This little guy was super cute, and just having the best time, laughing and giggling. He didn't answer me right away, but finally mumbled out something about a firetruck, which wasn't *all* that helpful. Meanwhile the old lady pulls up next to me and tells me that she saw the kid running and had been following him for a block and a half. Why she didn't get out totally escapes me, but I didn't bother to touch that subject. So I take his hand, and we start walking in the direction that he came from. Mind you he's got really short legs (and hence walks really slowly), so I pick him up and start carrying him down the street. Seconds later this ford explorer races around the corner, pulls right up next to me, and the boy's dad gets out. "Thank God!" is all he says, then he loads the little guy into the truck and takes off, yelling a "thanks!" as he raced away. I'm not sure if he was creeped out that I was carrying his kid or if he was just embarassed that he'd lost track of him.. but yeah, *oops!* heh.
Ok, going over to Colette's to have dinner now.. take it easy boys and girls.
PS- Spiderman 2 was excellent!
