Soo.... apparently this paper is like the mafia. Once you're in, you wait for your turn to lead or you die. And apparently, no one but the people in the trenches (like me and the reporters and other lowly news editors) knew the whole story, and we have NO input on promotions.
The outcome didn't change, but I shook up that department like it had never been before. I had the professor crying, next quarter's editor regretting her decision.......and the department head wondering why I wasn't promoted to that spot.
But... I will be the best damn photography editor they have ever seen. So when she crumbles under the pressure and time commitment, they'll put me in for the big plays.
I'm freaking ready to get out of here.
And I'm pretty sure grad schools are going to look right over me, because our program isn't accredited.
