Someone just didn't have enough to do
I'm the only Macintosh guy in our IT department here at Truth & Virtue Tech, so whenever a student comes in with a Macintosh issue, the network guys bring them to me, even though handling such things isn't officially my job.
This is the first week of school, so we've had tons of kids coming in and out of the department, getting their laptops set up for our new campuswide wireless network.
Today, Chris brought in a girl with an iBook that won't turn on. But not just any old iBook. It's a Hello Kitty! iBook! She says it used to be her sister's, who had taken it apart, and painstakingly spraypainted the relevant parts.
Hello Kitty! goodness notwithstanding, the thing is still dead as a hammer, and I'm waiting on her to get back with her power adapter so I can try some suggestions from Apple's support website.
