[why lookie, it's Death the Kid! he's been awfully silent as of late, and between the seeming destruction of the ship, waking up to find his room exactly the way he'd found it when he first arrived, and the consequent hours poured into putting everything back the way it should be damnit, who'd blame him for a little radio silence?]

[is clearly in a movie theatre, the screen still playing the movie behind him and pieces of popcorn floating around him]

I'm getting the distinct impression it's ship-wide. Makes life a little more exciting, doesn't it?

No. [strongly disagrees with that] It means that everything is floating out of place and once the ship stops doing this, everything's going to come crashing down!

[realizes something] Oh no...that means... [doesn't say what it means]

[blinks--hadn't thought of that] Well, that just means we shouldn't float under anything heavy, and we'll be fine.

Yes, but what about all the precious objects in the stores, the ones that can easily break when dropped and the balance that's been destroyed thanks to everything floating in the air?

[really, he just doesn't want to think about what's going on in HIS room]

You're right; a lot of stuff is probably going to be ruined. But hey, they're self-replenishing, and it's the ship's own fault for having unreliable systems, right? [grins]

We know that about the food. Is that still true with objects like perfectly symmetrical vases and statues?! [small glimmer of hope?]

Well, even with all our buying, the stores haven't run out yet, so I'd say probably yes.

No, not yet, but. I think...I'll try going to the stores. See if I can find anything to glue everything back to where it should be. Less to do later when the gravity returns.

[quirks an eyebrow] You're going to glue things down?

[doesn't see the problem with this] Yes. Failing that, I'm sure there's a strong enough tape that'll do the trick.

And if that doesn't work, I'll nail my furniture into the floor.

You do realize this is temporary, right?

[is silent about that for a minute]

That may be, but if it happens again, I'll be ready.

And that's worth trying to glue things down while floating?

Yes, so they'll still be in place when it ends. Where's the problem in that?
