1. Name:
Verity Claire Softly. Known among friends as ‘Fred’.
2. Age:
14, 15 on August the eighteenth.
3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose?
If fictional places was allowed, Hogwarts (ner), the dungeons in particular. They just seem to have an air of mystery about them.
But, in the real world, it would be either Sydney, in Australia, because that is where I want to get my out-of-school education (at the National Institute of dramatic arts) or somewhere in England, maybe Durham, since I have heritage there and it’s just so beautiful. I’d also love to go and sit in Durham Cathedral, probably for hours on end, knowing me.
4. What would your Room of Requirement look like?
Depends on what I required, now doesn’t it? It could range from a plain room with an enormous bed, to a room filled with people that I can joke around with.
Most likely, it would be a theatre, though.
5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character?
I’m going with Albus Dumbledore. He seemed to good to be true, and then the way he left Harry and the others not-knowing what was going on was just so stupid. He knew they wouldn’t just sit there if they knew nothing! Not know anything would make them more eager to do rash things, in order to find out what was going on.
He’s constantly praised for his intelligence and all that, but I think the way he runs it all is just, well, dumb.
…I bet you the seventh book will come out, reveal all, and I’ll be left going ‘Alright, so maybe Dumbledore wasn’t that dumb after all…’
6. Is the glass half empty or half full?
In the morning it’s half empty, at night it’s half full.
And that’s the way (ahuh, ahuh) I like it (ahuh ahuh).
7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality.
"You can discover what your enemy fears most by observing the means he uses to frighten you." - Eric Hoffer.
I know that this works for me. Everyone has a weakness, and it is up to you to find it and either protect it or attack it. Decide what to do, and do it.
8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends?
Friends.
I have the ability to judge and choose my friends, and thus keep them as close or distant as I want.
My family are, as horrible as it sounds, somewhat forced upon me.
9. What is your favorite childhood memory?
Going down to the beach on a full moon with my three friends, Georgia, Faye and Lara, and there was a tribal drumming band on the beach, with a big circle made out of fire-sticks surrounding them. We left the drumming and ran down to the water, and we ended up and crying and laughing and just letting it all go down in the water. I was petrified for my friends lives in the water, whenever one of them went under for more than 3 seconds, I’d try and find them to pull them back up. But, thankfully, no one died, and we promised to do it again every full moon.
We still haven’t.
10. What would you say is your biggest flaw?
My inability to comfort people or be sensitive around them. I just sort of slam-up and try to make them laugh, since that’s what I’m good at. But sometimes people don’t want to laugh, and I’m just stuck not knowing what in the world to do. And that is much of the suck.
11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.?
If I had been in Gryffindor or Hufflepuff, most probably. However, I feel I might have been in Slytherin, since I’m told I’m a good manipulator and leader, so, if that was the case, then no, probably not.
However, I could have been one of those Mary-Sue Slytherins, who goes and joins Harry and his mates, convincing the Slytherins not to turn evil.
You just never know…
12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations.
I either a). don’t get worked up. I can do things calmly, even if I don’t feel very calm at all, b). freak the fuck out, and start to cry, then get on with it.
13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice?
Justice. Compassion is flimsy, can mean so many different things. What is right is right, what is wrong is wrong. If I, or the person that is persecuting, is happy with the justice, justice has been served. Compassion is, most times, useless.
14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old soul?
A mix of both. I seem to be the one who dances around, sings loudly in the halls, starts to hum in the middle of exams, jumps in the pool fully clothed or pulls pranks.
However, I’ll do all this to myself, but if there’s any chance someone could get hurt, like in my favourite childhood memory down at the beach, I’ll get protective.
15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in?
Slytherin or Gryffindor. Strange combination, I know, but I’m calculating and, so I’ve been told, manipulative, but I’ve got the out-going style of Gryiffindors.
…I think.
16. If you have a picture of yourself and feel comfortable posting it, please do so! Pictures are fun!
No. No they’re not. ^^
