Nice and thorough.

1. Name: Kris (Krista)

2. Age: 22

3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose?
To be honest, I've found few places as naturally gorgeous as the Pacific Northwest -- whether it be Seattle, Vancouver, etc. If I had to stay in Seattle, I'd be perfectly content, thankyouverymuch. I would have a hard time living anywhere else that didn't have mountains, bodies of water, and sprawling greenery available at the ready with each glance...

4. What would your Room of Requirement look like?
A movie studio complete with lighting and audio packages, dollies and cranes of every size, backgrounds and green-screens at the ready, and state of the art 35mm film equipment. Oh right, and a section where the post-production and color-correction processes can take place. Can you tell I'm a filmmaker? :>

5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character?
Professor Binns, out of disinterest. I can think of a dozen other characters who are more exciting. History was one of my favorite subjects in school, but the way Rowling describes his personality...being in a class with him might be akin to slow, agonizing torture. For the record, I slept through 60% of my AP Government and U.S. History classes because the teacher was so dull. Umbridge, Pettigrew, and other nasty characters may be horrifically evil...but at least they have a personality.

6. Is the glass half empty or half full?
Full. Being emo's not my cup of tea. Besides, the amount of time I would waste feeling sorry for myself I could spend in much more clever ways. People to see, things to do. Once in a while, I find myself being unable to turn away from depressed people and encouraging them to try new things and have fun doing it. It's fine if they want to revel in that sort of melancholy if that's what they're comfortable with...I myself just can't stay that way for long.

7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality.
"Joan, without sepulcher or portrait, you who know that the tomb of heroes is in the heart of the living." --Andre Malraux (translated from French). I've been in love with this quote for years. I think it's absolutely heart-breaking and heroic all at once. It's inscribed on the statue of Joan of Arc in Rouen, France, where she was buried at the stake. She happens to be my favorite historic figure of all time and I have an endless wealth of knowledge and admiration for her character. To me, she was defiance and women's power personified, yet she remained humble (and witty!) throughout her stint as history's only 17-year-old female army general. Hell yes, I think she kicks ass. Her self-sufficiency and fearlessness against ecclesiastical judges MUCH more powerful is of great inspiration to me. I do a lot of working out and training in kung fu. She's a constant reminder of what is possible without having a big head about it. She was also blazingly honest -- as a Libra, I can't help but love her for that.

8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends?
As much as I want to say my family, I'm much closer to my best friends than anyone else. Don't get me wrong, I would be there to defend my family in a heartbeat, but I've found throughout my life that my friends come first. Besides, I believe it's entirely possible to make family members out of people who are not blood kin.

9. What is your favorite childhood memory?
I grew up where children had an enormous amount of freedom during the day, so from sun-up to sunset I would answer my wanderlust and literally go exploring for miles (I do mean miles) on end. I usually came home only to eat meals or when I was in trouble and fetched for. My parents would send "messenger" kids who knew my travelling patterns to search for me; I was that much of a wanderer. I wouldn't say I was out-of-control because I loved my parents too much, but I certainly tried to get away with as much as I could. As it turned out, I was able to charm and joke my way out of anything. :>

10. What would you say is your biggest flaw?
Heh, I know that if I were charged with any of the seven deadly sins, it would be Anger. I have a short fuse, it's a bit embarrassing. I don't blow up more than I'm prone to quick annoyance, but...it's terrible all the same. I could probably learn to curb my jealousy when it comes to my girlfriend, too. But don't tell anyone I told you that. :P

11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.?
Absolutely. The learning opportunity and sense of danger and rebellion involved would have been too great for me to pass up. I find that defiance is certainly an inborn trait within me and that I prefer to "go the road less traveled" or align myself with unique, interesting people rather than the popular ones. Whereas some students at Hogwarts may have found Harry Potter a shameless attention whore, I'd have focused on his sense of humor and find an easy friendship with him. Besides, the whole experience would have been a lot of fun. And uh...I'm not exactly a wilting flower.

12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations.
I confront my problems face to face without the aid of other people. I find that my burdens are mine to bear and so I don't like putting any of the pressure on anyone else. Though I do have a temper, I have a very fast recovery rate and when I forgive, I forgive completely. It roughly takes me about five minutes to realize I'm being silly before bringing myself back to a state of civility. I admire people who are slow to anger and therefore find myself embarrassed when I lose my cool. Keeping my cool is very important to me...and so is being able to laugh at myself for being a cranky dork.

13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice?
Compassion. The only way you can ever find peace and justice in your heart is to try to forgiving wrongs against you. Vengeance just doesn't work. It's too...temporary. Besides, being kind to my enemies always drives them nutty.

14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old soul?
Durrrr, not this question... I suppose I'm an old soul. As much as I joke around and love babies and pull pranks, I myself don't appreciate toilet humor from others and am much more attracted to mature, intelligent people. That would probably put me in Ravenclaw if I didn't think half of their house were utter snobs. :)

15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in?
Given my embarrassing temper and penchance for ass kickery? Likely Gryffindor.

16. If you have a picture of yourself and feel comfortable posting it, please do so! Pictures are fun!
