1. Name: Rebecca
2. Age: 20
3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose? I think I would like to like in either England or Massachusetts. I know, two places and you only asked for one. Massachusetts is the place I like most in the U.S. because first of all it has Boston which is where my religion Unitarian Universalist dates from. Also, it’s a northern liberal state which is just how I am. Granted it would be very cold and I am not a fan of the cold. As for England, I like it because it has so much history which it what I am majoring in and its one of my main interests. There is so much to see there and I just think living out of my country for a while could be good for me.
4. What would your Room of Requirement look like? I think my room of requirement would look a little like a library but with music added in. There would be soft lighting but enough to read by. There would be at least two book cases, one all full of history books of every kind. The other book case would contain fiction books, many historically based like “The Birth of Venus” or “Marrying Mozart.” Music books would be in there as well some where, bio of Beethoven and such things. There would be a desk and lots of notebooks to write in, my own fiction as well as notes on the books. It would have carpet and some windows and lots of comfy chairs. It would be just a nice little place of solitude. It would probably have a piano, my clarinet, and vocal music books as well.
5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character? I would have to say Hagrid is my least favorite character. I can deal with the villains; in fact I enjoy them a lot of the time. Most of them have interesting personalities or pasts I want to hear about. Hagrid on the other hand just annoys me. He can be very idiotic and willfully endangers others over what he thinks are harmless beasts. I can understand liking them but he should be able to see that they are dangerous and not just anyone should deal with them. Not to mention that he is far too emotional. Some times I just want to slap him and tell him to get a grip!
6. Is the glass half empty or half full? I depends upon the day really. So, I’ll just say that it has apple juice in half of it. It’s half empty when I’m thirsty and half full when I’m not.
7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality. “If there is ever a tomorrow when we are not together there is something you must always remember: you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think, but most of all, even if we’re apart, I’ll always be with you.” -Christopher Robin to Pooh.
8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends? Um, wow… that’s actually really hard for me to answer. It sort of depends upon the situation. Who ever needs me more at the time I think. My family tends to be rather distanced and not too emotionally loving but I do care about my sister a lot. Yet, my friends are very important because we are all still young and are dealing with problems for the first time. So… sorry I can’t really give you a straight answer here. It’s a situation to situation thing for me I think.
9. What is your favorite childhood memory? Playing with my sister. We use to play outside and make up games all in our imagination. Or we would play with our stuffed animals; make them go to school and such. It was just so nice and innocent. I miss it when imagination games like that were enough.
10. What would you say is your biggest flaw? I am too critical of myself and others. I tend to look down on weakness, even if I don’t outwardly say it, especially in myself. I don’t tolerate failure within myself very well at all. I have to do the best I can in things I care about. I don’t have to do fantastic in everything but I have to try and can’t just throw anything away or not do it.
11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.? No, probably not. It would have been interesting stuff to learn but I usually avoid conflict and am apathetic. I wouldn’t be apt to join a resistance group until things began to get really bad.
12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations. I usually just roll with the punches and try to stay calm. I am usually better at controlling my emotions and just getting to work. I’ll help who ever else may need help or I’ll just get as much work done as I can, managing time. Everything always gets done or helped in the end and I’ll do what I can to aid.
13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice? Justice. Compassion is important but we have to be fair to every one no matter what we think about them. People like Percy or Harry should get the same treatment if they come before the law or some such thing without the involvement of personal feelings or emotions. Compassion should be considered but justice should be the end.
14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old soul? I would say I am 30 and have been so for a while. I like to play around and be silly a lot of the time but I am also very good and being mature and balancing my life. I know how to manage my finances, balance work and play as well as friends and family. I can be a camp counselor during the summer and the president of a student organization during the year.
15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in? Ravenclaw, without a doubt. I think that can be seen in my answers above.
