1. Name: Annette
2. Age: 22
3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose?
I would be locked in a room with my laptop, an endless supply of food, easy access to a bathroom and my Muse chained to a chair feeding me inspiration for my best selling original novel.
4. What would your Room of Requirement look like?
It would be full of books and have cushions and couches all over the room. There would be a big window that would always look out onto some destination at twilight. There would be some sort of device to play music, and a nice supply of white wine. The room would be spacious and uncluttered and give me the solitude I need to think and get away from the things that drive me nuts about the world.
I would also have a computer so I could use AIM to talk to my smart Internet friends and have someone to mock stupid people with, because that is always important.
5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character?
Sirius Black is my least favorite character. He is a big hypocrite who cannot distinguish reality from fantasy. He is a terrible role model for Harry. He set a bad example for Harry. His job was to keep Harry from being reckless and in the end he died due to his own reckless behavior. He also seems to only want to be useful in order to get attention. That annoys me. He should be useful because he can be useful. If it was useful for him to stay at Grimmauld place and wait; he should have listened. He has no respect for authority and it really annoys me.
6. Is the glass half empty or half full?
Who cares if it's half empty or half full? It's mine, regardless.
7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality.
"There are two deaths. The real one and the one people know about." I love this quote because it resonates with me. There is always that one moment in a person's life where life changes and the person you once were dies. There is no turning back into that person and most times your left to mourn your own loss of yourself alone. The real death is the one that matters because it's the one you have to cope with and learn to live with. The one people know about means nothing to you because you're physically dead and you aren't there to worry about it.
8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends?
I can't say whether family or friends comes first. It all depends on what my family and friends can do for me. Obviously, I've chosen my friends for a reason - and generally that reason is I see something in them that is useful to me and yet at the same time, those people won't be able to turn the tables for me. As far as blood relations go, I tend to cast aside those who do nothing to help me. If they don't do more than say 'hello' and send Christmas cards I won't hesitate to put them on the bottom of my list of people I care about.
9. What is your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is when I was in the 8th grade and I was a participating in the Scholastic Olympics. By some grand omission, my school was the only school that didn't receive any preparation manuals at all. My hated science teacher had been drilling information into my head about life science for four weeks leading up to the competition because she was convinced that the test was going to be focused on that. Well when I got the test it was all about Earth Science. The Earth Science teacher was a hated rival of this evil teacher and hence, one of my favorite teachers. Despite not having been prepared for the test with the correct material I still won first place. When she asked me what was on the test, so she could gloat, I took great pleasure in explaining that had Mr. V not been the brilliant teacher he was, I certainly would have failed. Oh I still love to remember the look on her face when I'm having a bad day.
10. What would you say is your biggest flaw?
My biggest flaw is my short temper when it comes to idiots - genuine idiots who can't find common sense with two hands, a flashlight, and a friggen map. I get really irritated with stupid people or people who just can't ever seem to get anything right. It pisses me off. If I can do it, then every one else should be able to do it to. Now, intellectually, I know this is stupid, but when I am in the moment, I can't help but want to reach for a tazer gun and zap the crap out of the idiot. Mostly, I just settle for a scathing comment and even if the moron doesn't understand what I'm saying, it makes me feel better for a few minutes. It's so childish and I hate that about myself but that's me.
11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.?
I would have accepted an invitation to join the D.A. It's always a good idea to be able to protect yourself and have access to as much information as possible. You never know when spells, or things you overhear, are going to come in handy.
12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations.
I always avoid the difficult situation until the very last minute. I work better under pressure. That doesn't mean I am not thinking my way around a difficult situation, though. It just means that I don't do anything about it at the onset of the problem. I always look for shortcuts and quick ways out of a difficult mess; but if I can't find them it isn't for lack of trying. I always do my best work no matter what. The stress and difficulty of a situation actually motivate me.
13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice?
Neither. Both of those things get you into trouble. If you have too much compassion you end up getting sucked into some kind of emotional drain. And if you're constantly looking for justice, you're the one who gets screwed in the end because you always forget yourself.
14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old soul?
I was never good at the childhood thing. Even when I was 5 my parents always used to joke that I was 5 going on 30. I always had goals for myself and set up a plan to get them. When I was in kindergarten I set my sights on the best high school in the city because my Church partner was talking about that high school and how good it was. I guess I've always been able to see the big picture. So in short, I guess I'm an old soul.
15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in?
Slytherin. I'm far too cynical and self-serving to be placed anywhere else. It's just how it is. Plus, I look good in green and silver.
16. If you have a picture of yourself and feel comfortable posting it, please do so! Pictures are fun!
I don't have any pictures of me. :( Sorry.
