1. Name:
Samantha, but I typically go by Sam. Sammo is acceptable. Sammy is reserved for only a select few.
2. Age:
Eighteen
3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose?
I often make references to my dream home: Arley Hall, in Cheshire. Although I'll never be able to afford anything of the sort, I've always been in love with grandiose Enlish manors.
4. What would your Room of Requirement look like?
The room would be my "dream study." I intend to be a high school English teacher/freelance writer, so I shall require a quiet location to grade papers and muse over manuscripts. The walls would be entirely covered with mahogany bookshelves, each filled with a variety of books (classics, mysteries, fantasy, etc.) in shades rich burgandy and goldenrod. An elaborately carved desk, also mahogany, stands in center of the room, facing towards the door. Loose papers are scattered carlessly in a disorganized heap, managing to only just avoid an eggshell china mug filled with various writing implements. Behind the desk is a scarlet armchair. Although there is a standing lamp in the corner of the room, the source of light in the room does not come from it, for, to the left of the room, there is a stone fireplace, and the light from the flickering of flame is reflected against the brass mirror that stands above it.
5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character?
I must admit, I've never been partial to Peter Pettigrew. I cannot understand what could fuel a man to betray his childhood friends, the people who had taken him in as a brother for their school years and all times following.
6. Is the glass half empty or half full?
I'm quite the optimist, to the point where it can unnerve some of my friends. No matter what life hits you with, things could always be a thousand times worse, so I try not to focus on trivialities.
7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality.
There are no happy endings...because nothing ends... ~ Schmendrick, The Last Unicorn
No one is useless in this world who can lighten the burden of it for anyone else. ~ Charles Dickens
Stop worrying where you're going.
Move on.
If you could know where you're going,
you've gone.
Just keep moving on.
I chose, and my world was shaken:
so what?
The choice may have been mistaken;
the choosing was not.
You have to move on.
~ "Move On," Stephen Sondheim's Sunday in the Park With George
8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends?
I tend to lump family and friends together. You see, it is my opinion that your true family consists of the people who love and support you as you do them, regardless of relation.
9. What is your favorite childhood memory?
As odd as it may seem, my most treasured memories are long car ride with my father. My dad used to drive me to school, since it was forty-five minutes from our home and he worked in the general area, and we'd just spend time joking around, talking back to the radio together, and occasionally stopping off at a Wawa for a cappuccino and a hashbrown. It was our bonding time.
10. What would you say is your biggest flaw?
I'm highly indecisive (when it comes to daily plans and frivolous things like that) and disorganized. I also tend to "keep myself to myself," leaving my own issues to be tried by my mind alone rather than seek out other parties, which may make me appear slightly aloof.
11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.?
Oh, most definitely. It would be a wonderful way to learn new spells and increase my knowledge of wizardry, while revering an establishment that I would support far above that of Umbridge.
12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations.
If it's a situation that involves myself solely, I tend calm myself down and sit in silence, trying to work out the best approach in my mind. If it's a group situation, I tend to run around, making attempts to calm everyone down so that everyone's at ease (I don't like seeing people in states of agitation...) and can discuss things rationally.
13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice?
"Therefore Jew, though justice be thy plea, consider this: that, through the course of justice, none of us shall see salvation." ~ Portia, The Merchant of Venice
I think the above quote is rather apt. Though justice is sometimes necessary, there are few who act without truly believing what they are doing is for the best. Each person deserves the right to be heard and a chance to make ammends.
14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old soul?
I'm a combination, I suppose. I am, overall, a rather composed person, as a whole, but I'm certainly not without my idiosyncrasies and random outburst of energy.
15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in?
I'd probably be in Hufflepuff: the accepting, soft-hearted house. *pats self on the head*
16. If you have a picture of yourself and feel comfortable posting it, please do so! Pictures are fun!
Me in our Kairos pyramid, just before it collapsed

My eyes are frighteningly small, but I do so adore that hat.
