The Patriot

1. Name: Emily Elizabeth N.

2. Age: 18

3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose? In this world?  The UK, simply because... I want to, I suppose.  In any world?  Probably Minas Tirith or Gondolin in the glory days.

4. What would your Room of Requirement look like? It would have a beanbag chair, a comfy bed,  a fast laptop with a drawing tablet on it, a big ol' honkin PC for my writing, and a high ceiling.  It would be well lit and have a nice balcony on which I could partake in nature's flammable, inhalable delights without stinking my room  up, and the walls would be painted something dark and classy.  Oh, and it would have a mini-fridge well-stocked with pita bread and smoked salmon.

5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character?  I would have to go with Gilderoy Lockhart, because he's WAY too happy in addition to being a self-aggrandizing git.

6. Is the glass half empty or half full?  The glass is half-empty, but half-empty implies that there is a need to find a way to get it full again.  There's no point in being pessimistic if your pessimism isn't motivating you to improve your situation.

7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality.  "I am not afraid to keep on living, I am not afraid to walk this world alone, etc." from My Chemical Romance (cliche and emo as it is), or "Aure Entuluva" (day shall come again) from The Silmarillion.  Life is an ugly business, but you have to continue living it no matter what.

8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends?  Friends-- I've actually disowned the majority of my  family and would die for the few people that I consider true friends.

9. What is your favorite childhood memory? Punching this jerk in the face when I was in eighth grade.  I broke his nose and it was the BEST FEELING EVER.

10. What would you say is your biggest flaw? My ability to craft elaborate deceptions (convincing  my mother that I was hanging out with people that I hadn't actually spoken to for three years) and keep them going and going for far longer than is necessary or healthy.

11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.?  I would have stayed out of the Umbridge vs Harry conflict altogether, or, if that wasn't possible, sided with Umbridge simply because she's the one that had more beatdown-inducing  ability.

12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations.  I begin grinning insanely and talking very quickly until I have access to a cigarette (oral fixation FTW!) and a lighter.  I usually am able to figure some way out of it, regardless of whether or not it's ethical.

13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice?  I value justice as long as justice is on my side.  If a friend of mine, or someone who had helped me, was in trouble with the law I would not hesitate to break the law to help them.

14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old soul?  I would say that I'm a child at heart-- I'm very impulsive and quite selfish.

15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in? Slytherin in a heartbeat.  I have to imagine that it would go *beep* attempting to detect scruples.  No scruples detected. *beep*

16. Do you care which gender you are stamped as (If yes, tell us which gender you would like to be stamped as)?  I don't really care.

17. Anything else? Mmmm nope.

18. If you have a picture of yourself and feel comfortable posting it, please do so!  Pictures are fun!

.Me before I lopped off the vast majority of my hair.
