This is craptastically short, so apologies in advance for that. Some of the questions were really tough for me to answer for some weird reason.
1. Name: Lena
2. Age: 31
3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose? There is no single location I want to live - or rather the location changes with great frequency. I'm not one to stay in one place for very long. I like to move around a lot, to have to experiences and see new places. And overall, as long as I've a few friends or acquaintances nearby that I can have coffee and a good chat with once in awhile, I'm perfectly content.
4. What would your Room of Requirement look like? Shelves lined with books of all kinds, perfect light to read by. A big overstuffed chair or loveseat that would be perfect for curling up in and reading for an hour. Classical music playing on an old record player. The decorations would be simple. Light, clean walls, dark hardwood floors, a few pieces of art or photography on the walls.
5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character? Though they gave him a bit more depth in HBP, my answer to this is still Draco Malfoy. Throughout the series, he seems to be little more than a spoiled little bully. Even in HBP, he spends a great deal of time tormenting Harry. I like characters I can care about in some way, good or bad. Voldemort is a horribly evil character, but he's so fascinating and charismatic that I find myself thirsting to know more about him. With Draco, though, I've never found myself wanting to know more or caring a whit about what happens to him. Even in HBP, while curious about what he was doing in relation to how it was going to affect other characters, I didn't much care about what happened to him.
6. Is the glass half empty or half full? Neither. It's just half a glass. I'm not an optimist, but I'm not a pessimist either. Things are what they are and rather than waste time looking on the bright side or complaining about how horrible they are, you just have to make a plan to fill that glass back up.
7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality. In proportion as he simplifies his life, the laws of the universe will appear less complex, and solitude will not be solitude, not poverty poverty, nor weakness weakness. If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them. "Walden," Henry David Thoreau
I love this quote (or, well, the whole book, really) so much because it illustrates that perspective is everything and also that is is all well and good to dream, but that eventually you have to build a foundation under your dreams or they will crumble.
8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends? I am going to cheat and say neither/both. My close friends are like an extension of my family and I could never choose between them. This is, of course, just referring to close friends. Family would definitely come before mere acquaintances or casual friends.
9. What is your favorite childhood memory? I have very few pleasant childhood memories. I suppose one of my favorites would be attending Saturday morning mass with my grandmother and then going out for donuts and hot chocolate afterwards. Getting up early on a Saturday kind of sucked, but it's nice to remember spending that time with her.
10. What would you say is your biggest flaw? I'm lazy as all get out. Oftentimes the things that I want to accomplish never get done because I simply don't feel like it. For example, I should be unpacked by now, but every time I think to get that done, I find I don't really want to do anything but lounge around and read or play on the internet.
11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.? Absolutely. The DA gave students a chance to learn about things they weren't being taught in school. I could never pass up such a chance to learn something new.
12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations. It depends on the situation. Sometimes I have myself a good cry, sometimes I suck it all in and distract myself, repress the pain, and do what I have to do to get out of the situation. It just all depends on what it is.
13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice? I believe that both are equally important. Justice is important, because there would be choas if people were treated differently. However, it's also important to consider individual circumstances, to act with compassion and mercy when it is called for. Relying on either too heavily would cause so many problems.
14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old soul? I am definitely a child at heart. Regardless of everything I've experienced and learned, I am still pretty sheltered and naive in the way I look at things and think about things. I look younger than I am, I tend to spend time with people who are younger than I am.
15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in? Definitely Ravenclaw. While I possess traits from other houses, those who know me agree that I am predominately a Claw. I think it might be my extreme bookwormishness ;) Or possibly that I'd be a professional student if I could just because I enjoy going to class and learning new things.
16. If you have a picture of yourself and feel comfortable posting it, please do so! Pictures are fun!
I unfortunately don't really have any good photos of me, but I can provide some drawings of me...
