Oooh, I didn't realize that about the names at all. Pretty cool.

Gf also suggested Colby/Jack Tyler, though I wonder if Jack might be too soft/simple to Colby's taste, looking at his track record...

As for the others, Wanda Ventham and Edward Arthur (Colby's actor) talked on the documentary about how they asked the writer if Colby and Thea were supposed to have something going on, and he was all "dunno play it as you wish" and then, if I recall correctly, Ventham felt Colby was interested but Thea saw him as more like a younger brother. Which was pretty much my interpretation as well. Also apparently Leela kissing Colby wasn't scripted, so that fluttery lashes thing Colby does is a genuine reaction, and that is kind of awesome. Not quite sure if I want to interpret Colby as gay or bi (could be either really) but I figure if one gets a kiss from Leela some fluttering happens regardless of sexual orientation. ;D

Also Sylvester. It was magical. I was slightly distressed when he started running up and down the theater steps to get to people during the Q&A though. Stop being so awesome and rest your legs asdfg. >A<
Also not only did I and friends sit in the second row, gf asked him a question so they talked over me. oAo

Since Colby definitely seems to be interested in Thea as well as Leela, and Stael, I'd think probably bi, or possibly it's just some sort of general Rift effect on everyone, a la Torchwood. (I hadn't considered Jack Tyler/Colby, but given the goings on at the Priory, who knows? I think he's got enough shipping to be going on with, though; he won't have time left to be sarcastic at this rate.)

The names are quite cool anyway, even aside from the amusing RTD thing, because Thea is basically God Sacrifice, Fendelman is, well, Fendelman and Colby being Adam in a story that's conscious of names and is all about the origins of the human race can't be a coincidence. Even the dog's named after someone.

Sylvester = ♥ I would like to see him one day. Maybe that will happen. I'm glad you had a nice time, and let's hope he remembers to look after himself more properly in future. (Although I have heard that nobody can stop him going round the audience like that!)

well, if it happened it'd be after once... everyone else is very dead. I'3 Alas. Also yes, sarcasm time is v. important.

Oh yes, now you mention it. (Wasn't the dog called Leakey or something like that though? I remember laughing at it)

I hope you get to! :'D And yes, I've heard that too. He just cannot be contained apparently.

:-D

And, yeah, the dog was called Leakey, but it's a double joke, referring to Louis Leakey and/or probably his son Richard: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Leakey (This is the kind of thing that just makes me love Chris Boucher's writing. Scratch at it and you just get more metaphors and jokes, and significant lines. Image is a bit messed up, of course - Chris Boucher says it didn't quite work, but I also gather the director let the cast play around with it, which adds to some of the enjoyment, but is also slightly unfortunately when dealing with that kind of writer. Even so, there's still an awful lot going on in it. As well as being snarky and fun!)

I used to actually have a Colby icon. I am suddenly missing it. ;-)
