So my Dad and Mom owned a textile factory since I was 5, but sadly since more of the business in making sweaters went to overseas companies my parents had to close it down. It wasn't until last year that we sold the place to some Jewish brothers. They couldn't pay the full price for it right there and then so they made a deal which they pay for some of it every month, like a loan.
Then my dad comes home with the newspaper saying that the factory was in the paper. Apparently the old factory had a secret forgotten Bowling Ally, which was just discover by the new the owners.
Here is the link from some blogger doing a report one it -
The Secret Bowling Alley (More photo if clicked on)
So yeah...There is a very old 2 lane Bowling alley which was probably built in the 1930s...or so they claim....In the basement of my father's old factory.
The 1st thing that I find funny is that the blog post was made in December of this past year but it took up until now for the paper to do a report about it. The 2nd thing I find funny is that new owner claims that he found it after cleaning out some boxes and of junk.
"We recently purchased a building in Ridgewood, Queens, and while clearing out the basement we discovered a two lane manual bowling alley in very good condition. We did some research and this basement was most probably a club during the prohibition era. Would you or someone you know be interested [in the space]?"
I can tell you that owner is a God damn liar because before my father sold the place I helped clean out the basement and we found and knew about the bowling alley a long time. We just didn't think much of it because it was old and in the basement. Now the new owner is trying to rent the basement out to Movies/TV willing to use it. Well the joke on him because technically he can't do squat because he still owes cash to my father. So take that you rat bastard.
I'm just kind of annoyed that the guy is lying about the find and partly because if he does make some cash off it, that cash could have been my parents pockets. What can I say, I'm a bitter person.
I will burn that place down if he does somehow make a truck load of cash......but you didn't hear that from me.
Later...
