Friends of Nar Nar
Nara bug (our little black kitty) is not doing so well. She is on the operating table as I write this.
She had an "adventure" last week when she pulled up a register in our living room and explored the ducts for a few hours. We didn't even notice any injuries at first, but by Friday we saw she had a hurt lip and paw. Then Sunday we saw the other paw was cut as well. We did our best to keep everything clean and disinfected over the weekend and took her to a vet on Monday.
Our normal vet was booked solid and couldn't see her so we went to another. He gave her 3 shots and some antibiotics to take for 10 days. She had been limping badly, but by Monday night, she was playing and acting her normal naughty self.
Well, Tuesday morning, as I was getting dressed, I looked over and saw blood all over the bed. Our guess is an abscess in her paw ruptured. I called my real vet and they say to bring her in right away.
She has been there ever since. They have her sedated and are cutting away the dead flesh to "try and start fresh". We're pretty freaked out. I have no idea how bad it really is and if she'll recover 100%. I feel so guilty about the whole thing.
