- Suicide is the 8th leading cause of death in the USA, claiming about 30, 000 lives a year.
- Ninety percent of people who commit suicide have depression or another diagnosable mental or substance abuse disorder.
- Every day, 14 young people between the ages of 15 and 24 commit suicide. That's about 1 every 100 minutes.
- Suicide attempts are among the leading causes of hospital admissions in persons under 35.
- Men are 4x more likely as women to commit (complete) suicide, but women are about 2x as likely as men to attempt suicide.
- Suicide can be prevented.
Just some interesting facts I found online. I passed by it. It's funny how women only attempt it. If you want to commit suicide, you'll do it right the first time.
My day went by okei. I don't think I did too well on the English Unit Test, but then again I really didn't study for it this weekend. I got a 97 on my Spanish Test, wee!
Staying after was a waste of time. The library is not allowing Student Access yet. Me & Daniella looked for Mrs. Gallagher & she couldn't be with us in the computer lab because she had a teacher conference to go to. For the remainder of the time, we sat in the office until they gave us bus passes.
Starting to read Fahrenheit 451 in English. I read 28 pages already for tonight's homework. It's okei. I think it should get interesting later on in the story. I like the girl the fireman meets. She rocks my socks.
