oh a pirates life is the life for me!
Happy Talk like a pirate day! i heard about it on the radio this morning, and within minutes- chris texted me the same thing! lol. that happens quite often with us.
i am so motivated with work, its kinda strange. i had a long meeting with Paul yesterday- since he is my new boss- and he had some kind things to say, as well as some not so kind things to say. nevertheless, i am so motivated to do my new job- its weird. i spent all last week, in the evening- learning MS Project, and reading about project management; that already it is paying off. he said to me "i heard through the grapevine that at the slight mention of you perhaps becoming the Marketing Project Manager- you went home and learned project on your own; im impressed you took the initiative to do that, and it shows me you have motivation and you want to be here". well i really appreciated him recognizing that- and his next 30 mins was explaining to me the projects he wants me to oversee. (!!!!!!!) of course, its starting out small, but it culminates with the Asian campaign in TX- which is HUGE-- i almost couldn't believe he wants me even ON that project, let alone manage it!! well, i was pulled from the fire by Gina, and i have a lot of proving to do. i am trying very hard not to harbor any animosity towards Robert and Sean, but its very hard. THEY SUGGESTED I GET FIRED, and they aren't even my superiors!!!! how can i not have some emotion tied to that?? its pretty hard having Sean in CT this week especially- hes so arrogant, and his time is more valuable than yours- it bothers me. Eva and i sat and waited for him to join OUR meeting today, and he didn't even make the time for us. he is not above us, he is our peer- but, he brought up an excellent idea in the marketing meeting today- and i think he was still riding high from the compliment gina gave him, that he just didn't want to give us the time of day. cuz you know, he IS better than us and we shouldn't forget that. ;-) turns out he is Canadian- i KNEW there was a reason i didn't like him from the getgo! lol.
wedding planning is at a stand-still for right now. we aren't sweating anything really as of yet. we have almost exactly a year. and we have a location and i have a dress picked out- no need to go crazy yet.
chris is working late tonight, hence the long entry- i have a lot of time to myself. haha
