I had an early night, but Amélie woke up at 2am and was awake for an hour or so. I did eventually get back to sleep, until around 9am, but still felt exhausted when I woke up. I don't know whether it's interrupted sleep causing me to be so tired, lack of exercise, sleep debt, a combination, or something else.

Amélie was quite bright for most of the day, but scratching her spots on and off. We persisted with the Calamine lotion, but it didn't seem to help much. Lu went to the birthday party this afternoon, and I took Amélie to Mum and Dad's. She fell asleep in the car on the way, which is really unusual for her in the early afternoon.

We had a reasonable time at Mum and Dad's. Amélie wanted to go around the back garden about 20 times. Mum and I also took her out in the pushchair along part of my old paper round. It was almost impassable at one point. I'd like to say it brought back good memories, but I think I pretty much hated that paper round.

We headed back after 5pm, and I got a voicemail from Lu to say she was heading home also (my parents' is a black hole for phone reception). Amélie seemed to deteriorate and got very upset, so we tried giving her some Calpol, although she'd only take half the dose (diluted in orange juice). As per usual it's difficult getting Calpol into her, the dilution method is the best we've found.

After this I started dinner. Amélie was still in a difficult mood, and only ate a little of it. She did have a fair old breastfeed though. Lu has given her a bath and tried to settle her for bed, but no dice. So it's In the Night Garden time for a bit, and we'll try again later.

I'm still feeling really tired.
