URk! Next on the booklist to buy" NEW JAPANESE DICTIONARY. Mine utterly sucks. Not only can I not find things (the words are organized in english a-z in both the english AND the Japanese sides) and the words are spelled funky so I cant find them (Something that would be spelled そう[so-u in hiragana] is spelled sō in the dictionary, so I can NOT find half the words I look for) and a lot of words aren't even in here. I keep trying to look up verbs I run across in manga and don't find them. Before I took Adam-sensei's class I couldn't find them because I couldn't figure out what the base verb is. Now I can FIND the base verb and look it up but half the time it ain't in the damn dictionary. The straw on this camels back was the word ござる (As in the -de gozaru that Kenshin from Ruroni Kenshin always uses.) I knew ございまず had a base but I couldn't figure it out cause there was no ござる in the dictionary so i figured it must be me not knowing enough about Japanese. Turns out it wasn't. I was right. It did have the base ござる (and even though its an older form of japanese it's still there dammit...) and my dictionary, yet again, did not have it. I'm getting really irritated with this. At least I can get answers via google by typing "Japanese verb gozaru". Wonder if theres an online dictionary thats more reliable... I'll prolly just break down and get the one Michi has. It was really good and if I remember right Michi said it had excellent kanji stuff in it. I also remember her telling me that brick of a dictionary was expensive, too. --* ehh.... Anyhow, I'll quit bitching about inept Japanese dictionaries now...
