Three day work week. Those words sound so very sweet. That's what I'll be having before Thanksgiving. There's also no swing shift holiday weeks, which means no late nights this week or the week of Christmas. We don't get off Christmas Eve, or the day after, but we do get this Friday off. I don't understand it, but I'll take it. And now that I'm over the 3 month mark I actually get paid for holidays. At 6 months I'll be through with probation, get more vacation, and hopefully a raise. I'll be having Thanksgiving at just dad's this year. After that I'll be enjoying a weekend in Maryland with the fella. I'm still having remnants of my last cold, but I bought vitamin C and more Airborne to try and fight off whatever new illness I will undoubtedly pick up this visit.
I haven't mentioned it here yet, but I really really really really really hate winter. Really. I am done with snow and cold and shoveling and freezing. The only good thing about winter is getting to wear scarves, and I think I'd give that up. Snow is pretty, but it loses it's charm as soon as I have to drive in it, shovel it, or unbury my car. I only narrowly escaped dying on the way to work twice last week.
My sister and I went shopping this weekend. I have developed a love of shoes since starting a job where I can actually wear them. I never would have ever thought I'd be a shoe whore, but I love the darling little things. I bought two pairs that were on sale and a pair of black boots just like the brown pair I have and love. I also found my Christmas cards for this year and they're precious! I'll be sending them out soon.
I saw Twilight tonight with
sydistica . We had tried to go Friday, but it was sold out. I'm pretty sure it was still sold out today, but we managed to get in before it did. It really didn't suck as much as I was afraid it might. And I take back every not nice thing I ever said about Robert Pattinson. The boy is pretty. And I think I have a crush on Bella, which is a huge change since she bothered the hell out of me in the book.
sydistica, Carrie, and I went to tailgate at the Penn State game last weekend. It rained the entire day and was rather chilly, but it was a good time. We stopped in to the Phyrst afterward and saw Michael O'Brian play. We lost our asses at table wars, but the Guinness made it seem less important.
