Been working hard out at the lake. The grass mowing is a half-day event that I thoroughly enjoy, but today I started in on the boat... good god, it's filthy! I scrubbed and swept and wiped, and it's a little better but not much. Has a new battery now, though, so hopefully we won't have to row ourselves in like the year of my 21st birthday when the motor died. Things I need for the boat, in this order: a cover, new covers for the seats, new carpet. Would also like to put the sailboat in, even if no one sails it. Maybe I'll try! Someday I want a jet ski and to add on to the dock, make it longer.
Also need to trim back the plants on the rock steps leading down to the lake, scrape away all the dirt that's starting to take over them, and the rocks on the shore, weed wack all the weeds out of the boat entry place and scrape out all the foliage and muck. There are some new little trees coming up where so many were cut down (something that still makes me angry/sad). So I'm protecting them and showering them with love. Need to clean all the lifejackets too, some may be beyond repair. Also- gotta get the inflatable beds ready for some serious floating on nice days!
Got in the water just to wade for the first time... water's not too bad!
I'm still not sure how I'm going to organize the cottage, furniture-wise, but I'm looking forward to that, too. I want the cottage to be the OPPOSITE of cluttered. Will have two bedrooms but I think I'll use one for my piano/books/computer, etc. Will use the porch for a guest room in summer months.
I got a few boxes from work so I guess it's never too early to start packing!
