the days ahead

Watching Obama's (I mean, President Obama's) speech made me cry. I have never given a thought to our presidents, other than a mild interesting in what they may or may not be doing. I certainly never paused to remind myself to call them 'President' so-and-so before! It honestly feels like instead of a new president, we have crowned royalty. Is this what it was like to be alive when the Kennedy became president?

I have been busy at work, all of which will be on my nursing blog. I also created a new website for karate, Okinawan Karate Club of Ann Arbor. I have been getting more and more nervous about my black belt test, and find it very difficult to practice for some reason. I want to practice, but it's almost like I have a block on anything karate right now, maybe because I'm scared. I don't know.

Well, happy inauguration day everyone! I'm excited about being excited about a President and being proud of my country for the first time!

P.S. This was the first inaugural parade that included and openly gay and lesbian group!
P.P.S. When I travel overseas, instead of suspiciously asking if I voted for Bush, people will excitedly ask me if I voted for Obama!
