Like his brother, Jinshirou was born and raised in Japan. The eldest of five he was an exemplary student and already by the age of 11 shaping up to be a fine swordsman. A quiet and distanced individual Jin was well liked by adults but made few friends his own age. A hard worker he would take jobs during the summer to help his parents and set an example for his siblings.

Jin was 17 and three months from leaving home for school when one night his humble but cherished life came to an end. On his way home from work Jin saw a friend being forced into a car, her clothing shred and tears streaming down her face. With out a word he rushed the nearest attacker armed with nothing. By the end of the fight Jin was dropping his enemy's sword and there was not one of the eight men left breathing. The woman long since fled Jin was left to answer for the deaths alone.

Without the woman's testimony Jin was convicted of murder and put away for life. Rumors spread of the event and no one could believe little Jin Yamada had snapped and taken out an entire street gang. But they did believe it. They believed it and came to fear him. His family could do nothing to reduce his sentence and were forced to disown him.

Eight years he served his sentence passing his time in jail by perfecting his fighting skills and participating in jail sponsored matches. These matches were well known around the jail circuit as different counties would sponsor or even send their fighters to other prisons to participate in the fighting. It was in one such match that Jin, armed only with a Katana defeated 27 inmates several of whom were armed with guns. He was ruthless in battle testing both his own strength and those who would dare face him. Jin earned a reputation and the nickname "Katana". Inmates weren't necessarily clever.

This fight had also sparked the interest of a certain family. It wasn't uncommon for prisoners of exceptional quality to be bought. Who would miss a prisoner in this day and age? Though on paper it was an exchange from one facility to another it was in fact that Jin was to be sponsored by the Monacello family. Having nothing to lose he accepted the sponsorship and won the family five times what they had spent and his freedom.

No longer a prisoner and already in debt to the Monacello family Jin now lives in Italy repaying the family as best he can, with his sword.
