Letters from Jenn
I am in a weird mood right now. I am going through all of the letters that Jenn and I used to write back and forth. Sometimes I forget how much in love we were (are) in. It's sad now that we are lucky enough to talk to each other or send letters anymore then two or three times in a year. This is always my favorite though, the one she wrote for me to read on the trip home.
August 26th, 1996

Thinking about things to say in this letter was so easy until you actually are sitting down and writing - so don't expect much!
Well, there you are sitting on the bus, riding further & further away from Nanaimo, and me. I'm going to miss you so much, I already am. I wish you didn't have to leave, but I know that Edmonton is where all your friends are, I just wish it was not so far away.
I think long distance relationships can work, we will just have to write and phone each other a lot, that's if you want it to work. I could understand if you didn't, I'm not the easiest person to be going out with, but niether are you! Ha!
I've enjoyed spending parts of summer with you, especially our huge hiking trip! (note: We tried hiking up Mount Benson, a 4 hour hike, she just had an asthma attack)
You know how you say you have regretted lots of things you do? Well do you regret meeting me?
You have to be the sweetest, most caring guy I've ever met. I feel so comfortable and relaxed when I'm with you. I feel like I have known you forever. I always think about you. I think about when you get back home, you are going to forget about me and be with someone else by the end of the month.
I don't know how this letter is supposed to last 20 hours, sorry! But this is harder then I thought it would be!
You know I still can't get over that we had not met earlier! I was in the store about once a week in July last year!
Remember, I want pictures of you! Sorry this was the only recent one (it's bad).
Michelle says "bye!", yes shes here again. But she's reading (a magazine, not the letter)
I hope grade 11 treats you well! It sounds like your going to be busy, just remember to write!
Good luck with all your sports and student council! You'll kick ass! Especiall at biking - now that your pro!
Enjoy the last week before school, Michelle & I are having a party at her place, I've invited about 45 people, I think she'd inviting about same, her house is just like the nanaimo river house, so perfect for a party & "cutting some rug".
I usually have so much to say, now I'm totally stumped! I will probably remember once your gone.
Well grow your hair and shave your legs and I hope to see you this Christmas.
I'm going to miss you so much! Rmember I care for you a lot.
I am going to quickly put this in an envelope & seal it before I change my mind again.
You never know, the cabin and the technicolored VW van could always come true.

It's strange how long ago this was, but is seems like last week every time I read it. I have a stack of letters from the next three years. At least two a week.
I am pretty scared lately because I may hove lost touch with her. I used to be able to get things to her through her mom if I didn't know where she was living at the time, but even she has moved. We will get in touch again, we always do, but I want to hear her voice right now and I want to see her handwriting today.
