i know i'm late to the party with this one, but i was watching easy A last night and it was funny as hell!
which brings me to my thoughts about the gay character, and the whole trevor/it gets better projects.
i've got one for you: it's call the STFU project. as in, if mommy and daddy are still paying your bills or you still live at home or heaven forbid, you're a fucking minor and still in high school, shut what is known as the fuck up until that condition doesn't exist anymore! it's one thing if everyone already suspects... it's another to just flounce out of the closet when you know no one supports you and be shocked when... no one supports you. there's plenty of time to experience the rainbow colored world; you don't have to do it when you're 15.
yes, i know, i'm missing the point, you cry. hell, i got called dyke and lesbo in school and i turned out to be... oh yeah. that's right. a dyke and a lesbo. "bullying is real!" you cry. i don't deny this. yes, threatening the gay guy in school because he's gay is wrong. the bullying has to be of a hardcore level because of social media that we didn't have... but really? kids are cruel. kids always have been cruel. kids will always be cruel. don't try to tell me they're not.
really, how fucking hard is it to shut the hell up and not be all "we're here, we're queer, we're not going anywhere" in the middle of american history?!
homophobia,
rants,
