VA suckage...
so much for my plan to draw vocational rehab (right now).
the fuckers schedule a meeting for the 16th. that's right, fucking tuesday. at that meeting i must have a bunch of forms filled out with my i's dotted and my t's crossed, have all official copies of my college transcripts, and sit in winston-salem for 6 damn hours.
right. i just found this out yesterday.
obviously, this is not going to happen because of school and work committments.
so i rang them up to see if i could possibly get another appointment. first off, the number in the letter is WRONG. i called that number and it gave me a message that basically said that they don't bother to answer that phone so could you please call one of these 7 numbers?
i finally got ahold of a person... and then she was all like, "look, ms. stagger_lee77, we can't possibly change this appointment. you have to tell us an exact date you can do this or we must cancel your claim." i tried to explain to her that i can't tell her an exact date because i need a chance to work that out with work and school so i can take a day off to sit there all fucking day long. it gets better--they only do this type of appointment on tuesdays. damn them. so they cancelled my claim. the lady says that i can call them back when i know exactly what date i can come up there, but $5 says that i'll have to resubmit my whole entire claim.
ETA:: did i mention that this office is the only one that does these evaluations for the entire state of NC?
so, dear readers, my question to you is this: have any of you successfully done the VA's vocational rehabilitation program (or know someone that has)? if so, what kinds of questions/evaluations can i expect? and realistically, can i get it?
