i forgot how hot and stuffy this place is - its full of 'hot air' and cigarette smoke - its been a long time - ill open a window and let some fresh air in
like i said its been a while - since i last wrote - not since i last peeked at my friends' journals (i do read them, when they're not looking) - there are a couple of reasons for my return - for the past couple years i have had roommates with whom to discuss/debate current events/academics (ah college, its a pseudo-intellectuals paradise) - nowadays when i see my pals we just get souced and talk about the finer things in life - so i figure this is a good way to keep my mind going, to engage in some debate and hopefully to annoy friends with my religious rants and entertain them with my political quips - since there is an election coming up (oh how i do love politics) and since the world's a mess (although i do believe my kiss can make everything better) i figure this is a great time to return to this strange yet consuming journal - you know timing is everything in life - plus this place is much more awesome with me around - oh and how could i forget (almost forget) i also wanted to boast about my recent forty-hands victory
a huge pat on the back goes to me and 'franken'stein for an excellent performance at this weekends fortyhands (which i commenced by adjourning) - and it will please all who were there to know that my neighbors called to complain to my parents about the noise - the neighbors actually thought it was my parents party - my mom pretended it was and then me and her laughed about it later on - i think im too old for this nonsense
today Yusuf Islam was detained at the border and denied entry into the U.S. - for those who don't know Yusuf Islam is the muslim name of folk singer Cat Stevens - i always thought 'Peace Train' was a dangerous song and im glad my government finally did something about it
on a lighter note - has a friend or relative recently passed away - well if so don't wait to take advantage of this offer - "most of what is left of the human body after funerary cremation consists of carbon ash. now carbon, as every schoolchild knows, occurs in many forms, one of which is diamond. seeing an entrepreneurial opening here, an illinois firm named lifegem is offering a service to turn the loved one into a sparkling one. for a fee - their top-of-the-line three-quarter-carat rock goes for about $10,000 - lifegem will transform the departed into precious stones, tinted according to taste. a single cremated cadaver can generate up to 100 high-quality jewels. everybody knows, of course, that diamonds are a girl's best friend. now, apparently, a girl's best friend - or spouse, parent, pet - can be diamonds." - that was taken right from the national review, 'the week...' section
brings a new meaning to family heirloom - but it doesnt beat my idea - i want to be cremated - then i want my ashes to be put in the food that everyone eats at the huge celebration they have in honor of my life so i'll always be a part of them
i know this was long - too long - it wont happen again - just my welcome back entry
smiling when your friends are watching
peace
yours truly
