It is an unspoken agreement between them that they do not discuss it. For them it's as if Walter Sullivan never existed. In fact they never mention Ashfield Heights anymore, because the memories haunt them enough as it is, even far away where they have settled.

Eileen flinches when she hears certain sounds, sounds that remind her of metal striking flesh. She wakes during the night shuddering and staring into nothing, sometimes calling for her father. Henry's photographs have changed. Once he sought out sun and light but now they are filled with darkness and shadow. Usually, he isn't even aware of it until the photo is developed.

But it's as if they are attached to each other now, each using the other to remind them that they have survived. When they are together they don't have to speak. If he looks at old photographs she doesn't ask if he is looking at Silent Hill, and when she suddenly stops and covers her eyes he doesn't ask her what she sees.

Yet moments do come when Eileen needs to break the silence.

"I felt sorry for that boy. For Walter."

Henry just holds her, silently.
