Descent of the Holy Mother
Note: Takes place after the 21 Sacraments ending.
In a plagued and deserted building Walter Sullivan talks to his mother. Henry always finds himself watching and listening, though he can do nothing to stop Walter Sullivan now.
"This is forever, Mother," Walter says happily, resting on the couch wrapped in a blanket. "I'm in your heart."
"I know you're there, Receiver of Wisdom," he says, interrupting himself. "Come show yourself to Mother."
But Henry already knows Mother too well, and sometimes he is certain he can hear her reply to her son.
Now Walter calls for the little holy mother to join them, and then Henry sees Eileen's ghostly figure pass through the wall.
Henry reaches his hands out to her, as if he could still touch her. His heart is pierced by his own cruel failure to save her. But there is no point in remembering. Walter's mother is growing stronger.
