Mireille and Kirika passed by the couches. Their couch, being in the bedroom, was one of the few things left intact.
"Mireille, are we not going to buy a couch?"
"Why? Do you want to?"
"Not if you don't."
"It's fine the way it is; no need to buy a new one."
Mireille wandered the aisles while thinking of what to buy next, when Kirika asked, out of the blue, "Mireille, when you said clothes-washing, you didn't mean laundry, did you?"
Mireille almost missed a step, but she composed herself before Kirika could see. "Yes of course I meant laundry. What did you think I meant?"
"Hmm...it's nothing."
"That's right, it's nothing." They walked on.
Kirika trailed behind Mireille, trying not to look disappointed. She knew exactly what Mireille had almost said--she figured it out during their wandering. "If not clothes, then kisses?"
Mireille stopped in her tracks. "What did I just say? I said I was talking about laundry, nothing more. Get your mind out of the gutter and come on."
