Summary: Dean reflects on how his whole life revolves around his family.
When Dean felt Sammy dying in his arms it was as if the world was ending in that moment and nothing else mattered, except the fact that he had failed. He was supposed to keep his brother alive and safe no matter the costs and he had failed. Everything that he had done before had been for nothing in the end and it tore him apart. And then he realized that he had a chance at saving his brother and Dean jumped at the chance, nothing else mattered but his family and all he had left was Sammy.
He knew that the demon was with held all the cards and that she would get his soul for the cheapest price possible but Dean didn’t care. What was the point of living if Sam wasn’t alive? What was the point of saving the world if Sam wasn’t alive to enjoy it? The cost wasn’t too high no matter what the demon thought all that mattered was Sam would be alive when he was finished. She thought she was getting some bargain when it was he who was getting the bargain. No matter what she said, he knew that Sam would find a loophole and even if he didn’t, Dean didn’t really care.
