Kasanoda looked across the table at Tetsuya, who was lazily winding spaghetti around his fork. “Something the matter?”
Tetsuya looked up, surprised at the question. “No, nothing.”
Kasanoda couldn’t shake the feeling that Tetsuya was ‘off’ tonight. When he had knocked on the door to Tetsuya’s room and asked him if he was ready to go, Tetsuya had been sluggish in answering. When he had suggested going out for a movie after dinner, Tetsuya had only meekly agreed instead of flashing that bright smile and suggesting a film. It was a change, but not a change Kasanoda appreciated or liked.
When Tetsuya stayed quiet even as they left the restaurant, Kasanoda finally broke and asked, “What the hell is your problem tonight?”
Tetsuya looked startled, and then mad. “MY problem? We’ve been dating for months and you haven’t even tried to kiss me!”
“Is that what you want?” Kasanoda asked, eyes dropping to Tetsuya’s pink lips.
“It’s not all I want, but it’s a start,” Tetsuya sighed.
Kasanoda had never kissed anyone, let alone a boy. He grabbed Tetsuya by the shoulders and straightened him out. He leaned in carefully and quickly kissed Tetsuya’s lips. “Like that?”
“Just like that.”
