Author's Notes: This is an original character project I've been working on for a few months. It's the story of police intern Randy Bosch (PB'd by Hal Sparks, hence the title) and his close friends, Detective Tara Meredith and architect Brendan Thompson, as they navigate life in Los Angeles.
Backstory for Randy is located here. I should preface this (the first of five drabbles) by saying that I don't romantically 'ship Randy/Brenda. I don't 'ship Randy/anyone. However, it's been established that he and Brenda Cassaday (his best friend's boss) have worked together for some time and have an established history.
The alarm goes off and Randy is conditioned to another day of work. When he gets there at eight Cassaday is already upstairs, in her office, reading her morning report.
But they're comfortable in the silence. Set in their routines. Asking themselves if they've got what it takes to do their jobs, keep the city safe, endure the fact that all news seems to be bad news no matter what they do.
Every morning they will always be here. One on the fourth floor, one in the basement. Sitting in the silence, thinking over the state of the world.
