She tasted his salty tears running into her mouth. He sobbed and sobbed, releasing the pain he’d held within so long. Deaths, prophecy, loneliness, and the rest released from his mind. He let go. He wasn’t going to let it destroy him, but he wasn’t going to forget it either. He would move on in spite of the pain, not without it. He clung to her robes, letting her see tears that no one else would. He had to be strong, be the hero, but not with her. She’d be there as she always had been, his guide and strength.
