He had a choice. He could open the door to walk along an empty corridor, or sit on the bed and no one would come for him. He chose the latter and soon he was proved wrong.
Hojo took his hand. The scenery along the corridor passed by swiftly, signaling the end of a life and the beginning of something else.
“Do you know what lie ahead of you?”
“ ... ... ”
“Great things.”
“Great things” were not what he wanted. Yet. Right now, he only wanted to sit beside Gast, Ifalna or Vincent. But he kept walking, and not after them anymore.
