CSI:Miami - Ryan/Calleigh, Five 1sts of a relationship: first fight

Notes: Written for stagesoflove for the Five Firsts of a Relationship challenge for first fight (as a couple.) Set during CSI: Miami Season Three.
They had had fights before when they had just been co-workers. Sometimes the evidence just spoke to them differently, and when it came down to it they both had different opinions on crime and punishment. However as a couple, Ryan and Calleigh had yet to fight about anything. Of course there was a first time for everything and as Ryan glared at Calleigh, he couldn’t even remember why they had been fighting in the first place. It was over some trivial aspect at work, and he had gotten upset about it. From something trivial it had exploded into a nitpicking session of each other’s bad habits. He wondered briefly if Calleigh knew why the fight had started, even though she seemed to be glaring at him as much as he was at her. Just as suddenly as the fight had started, Calleigh started to giggle.
”Would you take a look at us?” Calleigh questioned.
“What’s so funny?” Ryan asked as he stopped glaring at her and rubbed the back of his neck.
“Fighting over something so stupid as a case that we’ve solved. I mean really, don’t we have better things to do?”
”Like what?” Ryan asked as he sat down on the couch beside her.
“I don’t know, maybe this,” Calleigh replied as she leaned over and kissed him.
“I think you might be right.”
The fight was quickly forgotten as they moved into one another’s arms and started to kiss. Ryan had to admit that when Calleigh was right, she was certainly right. At the same time, he was glad that she had been the one to stop the fight. He didn’t think that he would have been able to, even if he hadn’t been really sure of what they fight had been about. It had to have been more than just an old case that they had worked on. Calleigh gently bit his lip and all thoughts of work, cases and anything other than her fled his mind.
