“I’m bored,” Spike said.
Xander grunted as he slammed a stake through a vampire’s chest. “Spike, all we’ve been doing tonight is getting into fights. How can you be bored?”
Spike stared at him as if the answer were obvious. “No sex, mate. I usually get sex after a fight.”
Xander stopped and slowly turned his head. “Are you really complaining because I haven’t stopped to jump you in a cemetery and neither has Dru?”
“Would make things a lot more interesting wouldn’t it?”
Xander snorted and glanced behind them, where Dru was celebrating their victory. “You want interesting? Entertain yourself like Dru does.”
Spike turned and followed his gaze, a fond smile appearing on his face as he watched Dru twirl in a circle, her hands in the air.
The snapping of a branch drew each of their attention. Dru turned in the direction of the noise, eyes glinting, while Xander readjusted his grip on the stake and Spike smirked. Xander, of course, couldn’t resist saying one last thing before the fight began.
“You just had to say something about being bored didn’t you?”
