The phone call comes in the middle of dinner. She leaves Sydney and Jack debating which of the Gummi Bears is the best as she answers, and her blood runs cold when she hears the voice on the other end of the line.
"Monday," her handler says.
"Mommy! Come tell Daddy he's wrong!" Sydney calls.
"I'm sorry, you have the wrong number," she says, and forces herself to smile as she turns back to the table.
Monday. She has exactly three days to prepare for her extraction, and she's never hated the name Irina as much as she does now.
