Want is something of which Tezuka is entirely too familiar. Tezuka wants so much for himself, for his team, for his teammates, from them.

Tennis. He's always wanted tennis from the moment he held a racket in his hand. It was, is, freedom. Completely necessary as if food or sleep.

Since he's joined Seigaku, he's had the Nationals on his mind and in his sight. The want to win so thick he can taste it whenever he wakes in the morning, looks in the mirror, and goes to sleep at night. He can't do it alone, so he entraps people in his dream, making them want it as much as he does.

He wants everyone to be like him, train like him, accept nothing less like him, but they resist it, only doing as much as need be. So he pushes them harder, forcing them to want to do better. He can't stop himself when he sees his teammates fall just below their potential or, he thinks as he watches Fuji, far below it.

Fuji is another matter entirely. He is the sum total of Tezuka's wants. The body, the mind, the soul, the tennis, all of these things he wants from Fuji.

He wants Fuji to play, seriously, with his all, against every opponent, but especially against him. He wants Fuji's words to mirror his actions because he's tired of the games, the riddles, the metaphors and allusions. He wants Fuji's body, underneath him, all around him, panting, sweating, clutching him tightly. He wants Fuji's heart because without that, the rest is meaningless.
