No matter how many times Vala tries to touch him Daniel always shrugs her off and bats her away. He desperately needs to keep her at arm’s length before he does something stupid like rip her hair out or kiss her. Both options are stupid and dangerous.
Her touches don’t bother him as much as he pretends but it’s the fact that he almost likes the way she brushes up against him that has him worried.
He likes the scent of jasmine that hovers around her, the way her hair frames her ivory face and the way she walks like royalty. He likes Vala, really likes her and that frightens the archeologist more than anything he’s faced.
He can’t trust her and he knows he may never be able to but he wants to. She’s too unpredictable. She could probably be counted on to make a bad, self motivated decision but guessing what she’ll do exactly is like trying to remember every language ever created.
Arguing with the intergalactic con artist has become a daily routine and she's made it clear she isn't going anywhere. Vala Mal Doran won't go anywhere she doesn't want to and he likes that too.
