I was furious at first. I wanted to hate her. I wanted to tell her to fuck off. I never wanted to see her again. Even though we had been tenuous friends I kept asking myself why she hadn’t been the one, why Lily had to die instead of her. They were both: blonde, young, and beautiful. They both dated rich teenage boys (like yours truly). They both played with Barbies when they were young and probably thought boys were gross at the same age.
But she cried just as I did. And suddenly, I needed her to be around.
