Lunar Effect Yasuda wakes up to the in the morning, eyes blinking as the sunlight streams into the room to bathe him in its warm, golden rays with dust motes dancing in the air. He panics slightly as he finds himself in a strange room and an equally unfamiliar bed. He closes his eyes again, lying very quietly as he tries to clear the cobwebs from his mind and jog his memory to recall what happened the night before.
His eyes snap open when he hears a sigh next to him, only to see a very nude Hasegawa still deep in slumber, the bedsheets draped around his hips. Yasuda finally remembers with stark clarity what he did with Hasegawa after they left the party and he feels his face heating up with embarrassment.
Then he recalls Ryouta's earlier hints, when his best friend had first noticed the growing friendship between Yasuda and their senior. Yasuda cringes as his mind helpfully supplies the unsubtle warnings Ryouta had given about the less-than-savoury activities the boys from Shoyo indulged in, on how they had a certain reputation and he almost regrets what he has done.
Almost.
Hasegawa shifts after that, showing signs of increasing alertness and Yasuda feels himself overcome with fear, his stomach churning with anxiety. He curses his uncharacteristic impulsive behaviour of the night before - but it was so nice and it felt so good doing that with Hasegawa, a traitorous voice whispers within him - but it is far too late for regrets, he tells himself sternly and braces himself for a cruel letdown.
But fate can be kind. Hasegawa finally opens his eyes and smiles sleepily at him and Yasuda's heart stops for a moment, overcome with gratitude and relief as he realises that it wasn't a mistake and Ryouta could be wrong. Then Hasegawa truly awakens and props himself up on an elbow to kiss Yasuda on the forehead and Yasuda thinks to himself, that perhaps, just perhaps, this could work out after all.
