“Sara, I love you!”
Sofia took a step forward, stopped as Sara held up a hand and she wondered desperately if she had gone too far, too soon.
Sara’s voice was low and choked. “In my whole life, no one has ever said those words to me.”
Sofia took another step forward and her voice was pleading. “Then let me say them to you again and again because I mean those words. I love you, Sara. I love you so much. I love you.”
Sara’s smile was blinding through her tears. And she stepped forward.
“I love you too, Sofia.”
