Author's Notes: On the advice of my Beta I switched pov like I did the first go 'round. Now you'll find out what Abby is going through.

Abby stared at the small window in her lab watching pairs of feet walk past quickly. She hadn't moved in over an hour as the day had presented itself to be a slow one. She had nothing to occupy her mind and nothing to focus on. She hadn't seen Gibbs all day.

She had considered that becoming involved with him would present a conflict at work. But until this thing had developed they had worked together fine. The previous day he hadn't acted strange when in her lab, just Gibbs without the private smiles and laughter for her.

For the last few days she had returned to her lonely apartment to sit and wonder. She played out the days leading up to his attitude change over and over in her head and could not figure out what went wrong. Her nights found her sitting up chewing on her fingernails.

Abby could not sleep alone. She was suprised at how quickly she got used to his warmth curled around her. How the feel of his hand at her shoulder was enough to bring her to sleep. She missed the touch of his skin, the smell of his hair and the comfort of his presence.

Abby missed his soft good morning kisses.

She spent hours in pajama pants and a worn Marine Corps t-shirt she'd stolen. She couldn't get him to talk and she had no idea. She just wanted to know what was wrong and how they could fix it.

She figured out what was going on at work the next morning. Abby had to drag herself into the lab with an extra big cup of caffeine to find a box sitting on her desk.

It was all the answer she needed in one instant. She dropped her bag where she stood and stared at the box. A simple brown cardboard box. A box of doom. Her heart began to pound as she stood frozen.

It was all it took to convince her that this thing was more than just a 'thing'. It meant something, at least to her, and now it was over, before it really had a chance.

She began to cry as she pulled her belongings out of the box. Clothes, some random jewelry, a book. Things that had comforted her in her place at Gibbs. Things he no longer wanted. She settled into the corner of her office with her hippo and cried.

Gibbs had just broken up with her.
