Their ideas of romance were different. Logan wanted to do something different than the traditional things and those were the things Veronica was hoping to start with.

It’d only been a week since she’d asked what if he still had feelings for her and she still smiled when she thought of the response she’d gotten.

“You mean you can’t tell? I must be a better actor than I thought.”

“Logan.”

“And here, I thought you were a detective but I guess I’ll just spell it out for you. I never stopped having feelings for you, Veronica.”

Now she was just frustrated that they couldn’t seem to agree on anything. She sighed.

“Logan, a girl likes to be romanced every once in a while. Strange, I know, but true,” she told him.

Logan rolled his eyes. “And what, offering to stay in, just the two of us, isn’t romantic enough for you?”

“No. It sounds like you don’t want to be seen in public with me,” Veronica muttered. Logan frowned.

“You think I don’t want to be seen in public with you?”

Veronica froze for a moment, the doubt flickering over her face before it was masked. “Well, it’s not like anyone would blame you, right? We have quite the history,” she said, hoping to lighten the moment.

He shook his head. “Where’d all that self-assurance go, Veronica?” He looked at her. “I’ll tell whoever has ears that we’re on a date. As a matter of fact…” He trailed off and pulled out his cell phone, scrolling down through his phone list.

“What are you doing?”

“Calling People,” he said casually.

Her eyes widened. “What?” She reached out and grabbed his phone. “Why?”

Logan raised an eyebrow as if the answer were obvious. “Do you have a better idea on how I can show you that you’re wrong?”

Veronica blinked, processing what he’d just said. Logan guarded his privacy fiercely. There were still the occasional candid photos in magazines but he didn’t agree to interviews or actual photo shoots. Yet he would have called up a magazine and told them about his personal life just to prove a point to her. Knowing Logan, he’d have given them a time and place so that they could take pictures for proof as well. Slowly, she smiled as she came to a realization.

“You know what? I think your idea of romance works just fine.”
