Author's Notes: Will’s been away for a long time, but he’s back.
The sight of Bran working on the hillside in the lazy afternoon sun almost blissfully blinded Will. He’d been imagining and remembering the lines of his lover’s body every minute of every hour of the four months he’d been away. Now, seeing the real thing, he wondered again how he had survived the separation.
Bran’s muscled body was covered with a fine sheen of sweat as he worked at the back breaking task of fixing yet another fence. His white vest top lay discarded and long forgotten on the ground some distance away and his worn jeans only clung to his hips by the grace of a leather belt that circled his waist. Will drank in every detail, his eyes tracing his cheek bones and down his neck.
Bran stopped down to pick up more wire and Will silently gasped as he watched the muscles in Bran’s back flex. Will wondered at how Bran didn’t burn, his skin being so pale. But then the Old One in him reminded him who Bran was, and was then quickly swamped again as the thoughts of a love-starved young man took the reigns again.
John Rowlands, as much a part of the hills as the grass on which they all stood, gazed down at Will now. Will suspected that John had sensed him walking up the hill some time ago but had waited till now to let Will know that. He smiled and nodded his head in respectful greeting, before quietly gathering his things and disappearing over the hill without a word.
Will’s eyes strayed back to Bran as he carried on oblivious to the attention he was getting. As he watched, Bran tied of some wire and set down his things before rising into a back-cracking stretch. Will’s mouth dropped open as he watched. And unfortunately, this was when Bran finally noticed him.
For a moment, he stood still, silent. Then a grin spread over his beautiful face and he called out.
“Admiring my fence there are you, cariad?”
Both of them were walking towards each other without noticing they had started moving. And both were restraining themselves from breaking into a run. And then they were standing a few inches apart, aching to be closer. Will’s eyes ran wild over Bran’s body, taking in his golden eyes, his wild blown hair, the patches of dirt on his jeans and the hole in his left boot.
“Mmmm, something, like that,” he said as he took Bran into his arms and kissed him.
