European flower shops look so different from Japanese ones and yet so oddly similar, and the scent, the scent is the same the world over.
There are tulips in the window; huge blooms, fist-large.
He remembers how soft the petals used to feel beneath his fingers.
He wonders why he ever thought it would last.
Nagi grips his arm. "We're going to be late," he says.
"Thank you," he says distantly. Nagi has been doing this since they started working together; bringing him back to himself, saying strangely supportive things for no apparent reason.
Mamoru doesn't understand it at all.
